THE HAPPY PLACE

"THE HAPPY PLACE"
Original
Oil on Masonite
24" x 18"
SOLD
©Nancy Tokos 2014

Original.  Sometimes, the title says it all.  My Nikon does a good job recording the colors in this photograph but there is a slight "shine" at the top which is the work of a light source somewhere in the room and not my paint brush.

If you are wondering, commissioned oil paintings are a great gift.  EVERYBODY loves a portrait or loves to surprise someone.  Contact me for details or click the BUY NOW button $495 oil painting.  You may come to my studio for a photography session.  I will also work with your favorite photograph.

This is an original work of art by California artist, Nancy Tokos, member American Impressionist Society and Oil Painters of America.  Oil paint on masonite.  Safely packaged and shipped via FedEx but please allow 1-5 days for shipping. Oil paintings + drawings dealing with the sea or nautical theme are very handsome in their "barnwood" frame, my favorite available at Frame USA http://www.frameusa.com/.
* colors, values, may vary slightly between the actual painting and the image on your computer due to my digital camera settings, time of day the photograph is taken and the monitor you are looking at right now. *

BREAKFAST CLUB

Oil on Canvas

Original.  We live minutes from the beach so I would be quite crazy not to walk the beach as often as possible.  I take pictures with my little Canon Elph.  I'm sure if I ever read the instruction booklet,  the camera would do amazing things.  But for now, it's great reference for future paintings.  What my other camera has not done, is accurately captured the lovely orange highlites on the breasts of the birds.  They were very amusing, ambitiously pecking everything small that moved and then running from the water as it washed under their feet, or their three clawed toes.  Whatever they are called ...

12"x9" Oil on canvas panel
SOLD

Original.  Actually, I am a duck-lover.  But now I live by the beach, so I am a seagull-lover.  Keep it simple. Bird. Sky. Beach. Paint. It's reality entertainment and I love it.  You will enjoy this original oil with all the brushwork.  I ship with peace of mind: FEDEX.  It is a little bit more but we both will know that the painting will be delivered in 2-3 days and in one piece.

WHALE OF A NIGHT

Whale of a Night
Original
Oil on Winton oil paper
12"x9"
SOLD

Original.  If you live in San Diego or have ever visited Southern California, a popular activity is to take one of the 3 hour whale watching tours.  Recently,  we toured on the "America" which is a 139' replica of America's Cup sailboat.  Hah.  Sailing vessel would be more appropriate.  It was a magnificent day and yes,  spouts were viewed far away and then the boat went in closer and there were a couple tails.  They are not loners. A nice painting to recall this adventure ~  This will arrive with a nice white mat and white frame, ready to hang.  Looks really nice,  I have to admit.
