Original. Cute story behind this painting. Most of my work has signifiance, to some degree, to my life. A colleague & dear friend, and this goes back to my television career days in the 80s, Jimm, took a trip this year with his wife to Thailand and Viet Nam earlier this year. Jimm and I had worked together on a nightly television show out of Los Angeles called "2 On The Town." The program traveled the world, so it was a coveted job not only at KCBS but all affiliates from west to the east coast. Jimm is an Emmy Award-winning editor and had been on the show for several seasons. This was, however, my first job in television. When I produced my first 3:00 minute segement, Jimm was assigned to edit. Poor ole Jimm. I was prepared with hours of footage and a script when I went into the edit bay. But Jimm knew it was really up to him to make the piece work. He twirled around in his chair and greeted me, OK whats the timecode in and out on your first shot. And then what is next. In true producer style, I waved my hands and tried to explain the look and "feel" I was going for. No. Jimm needed exact time codes. Why wouldn't I be nervous, Jimm was a brilliant Emmy winning editor ! I had zero-experience and he was stuck, basically, cutting the piece. Fast-forward 30 years, Jimm and I forged a solid friendship. There was the chance to do a painting for Jimm and Audrey, he had paid a great compliment on another painting, so I said, let me do a painting for you. This is his photograph:
