Inspired by James Montgomery Flagg's recruitment poster 1916-1917 honoring Memorial Day 2014. This is my intrepretation done in oil paints as I believe the original was a watercolor. While painting Uncle Sam, I thought of all the men and women who may have been inspired after seeing Flagg's painting and then marched to nearest recruitment office.
This is an original work of art by California artist, Nancy Tokos, member American Impressionist Society and Oil Painters of America. Oil on gesso'd masonite. Safely packaged and ready to frame but please allow 1-5 days for shipping. Seascapes are very handsome in a wooden frame, my favorite is barnwood found at Frame USA http://www.frameusa.com/.
* colors may vary slightly between the actual painting and the image on your computer due to my digital camera settings, time of day the photogrsph is taken and the monitor you are looking at right now. *
