Original.  This oil painting is an inspirational study based on the 2001 photograph taken at Ground Zero. The other day, something wonderful arrived in my in box. Firefighter, Jacob Whitaker, wrote to me. You see,  two years ago, I had done a portrait of one of the Twin Towers firefighters who died that day, Thomas Hetzel.  A friend saw the portrait I had done and helped me track down Hetzels Fire Station, the name of the Captain.  With this introduction, I sent the portrait to Hetzels colleagues at Ladder Co. 13 in NYC.  Firefighter Whitaker asked persmission to use Thomas J. Hetzel's portrait as his Facebook ID.  He explained firemen show their respect to the 343 by climbing 110 stories in full gear in Rememberance of 343 true heroes.  This will be his second year doing this re-enactment.

Bring me to my knees.
