Original. In 2013, The National Portrait Gallery in London, had a great exhibit of the preliminary sketches of Renaissance artist, Federico Barocci (1535 - 1612). I was mesmerized with the depth yet simplicity of his pencil and charcoals. When I compared his sketches to the finished oil painting, I thought, "meh" ... whenever I need to change subjects to "clean out my cobwebs) I pick up a mechanical pencil. Nothing quite like including eyelashes and a few wisps of hair.
This is an original work of art by California artist, Nancy Tokos. She is a member with AMERICAN IMPRESSIONIST SOCIETY, OIL PAINTERS OF AMERICA and SAN DIEGO PORTRAIT SOCIETY. Pencil on 400lb.
